Energy efficiency program administrators from the United States and Canada formed the award-winning Consortium for Energy Efficiency to achieve lasting and verifiable energy efficiency.
 
DesignLights Consortium
The DesignLights Consortium® (DLC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the widespread adoption of high-performing commercial lighting solutions. The DLC promotes high-quality, energy-efficient lighting products in collaboration with utilities and energy efficiency program members, manufacturers, lighting designers, and federal, state, and local entities. Through these partnerships, the DLC establishes product quality specifications, facilitates thought leadership, and provides information, education, tools and technical expertise.
 
National Association of Energy Service Companies
The National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO) celebrates over 35 years of advancing the energy efficiency industry.
 
About the Supplier Clearinghouse
In May 1988, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) issued General Order 156 (GO 156). Under GO 156, the CPUC required all investor-owned electric, gas, water and telecommunication utility companies with gross annual revenues in excess of $25 million (as well as their regulated subsidiaries and affiliates) to develop and implement programs to increase the utilization of WMBEs. The Supplier Clearinghouse was created. Procurement goals of 5% for women-owned businesses and 15% for minority-owned businesses were initially established. GO 156 was later expanded to include a goal of 1.5% for California-based service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. A goal for LGBT-owned firms has not been established yet. The certification process was designed with eligible suppliers in mind, making it easy for participating utilities to find and utilize WMDVBEs/LGBTBEs. Today, The Supplier Clearinghouse continues to be a Commission-supervised entity whose primary purpose is to audit and verify the status of WMDVBEs/LGBTBEs on behalf of the individual utility companies. We maintain an accurate and reliable database of WMDVBE/LGBTBE-certified firms that is accessible to the CPUC and participating utilities for procurement-related outreach and opportunities.
 
NAILD
Throughout the years NAILD has continued to evolve and change with the lighting industry by offering leading lighting educational programs and a forum, including regularly updating, enhancing, and expanding LS programs, and featuring forward thinking education such as controls and LEDs. NAILD was the first association for independent lighting distributors, giving them access to manufacturers on a greater scale, which helped to drive products to market. NAILD built a leading industry training certificate program that educates hundreds of individuals within the lighting industry, including the new LS-Evolve course in 2020. NAILD has helped to bring together lighting distributors with major manufacturers in an intimate setting designed for networking to help facilitate business.

Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries. The Supplier Diversity Office (SDO)
The Supplier Diversity Office (SDO) has a long tradition of service to minority and women owned businesses in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The SDO is responsible for conducting investigations of certification applications from businesses that meet certain criteria. The SDO currently certifies certain diverse business categories such as Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) all of which must meet certain certification criteria. SDO certification is a marketing tool used to enhance a firm's ability to do business in public and private markets. Although certification does not guarantee that a business will be successful every time it bids, it may add a competitive edge to firms seeking contracts with the government.
